Insurance and RefundsDon’t you just love the word refund? Well if you are in the situation in which you were sold payment protection insurance you could be in the market for a refund. It is estimated that customers could get as much as 2,000 per person back if the legal battle is successful. At the moment a legal battle is going on regarding city law and the high street bank. The protection policies have been sold with loans, credit cards, car loans, and mortgages. However, the law firm of Clyde and Cois is running a suit against HFC and HSBC because of the protection insurance sold in 2005 to 2007. A fine of 1.1 million pounds by the Financial Services Authority was lodged against the HFC for inappropriate behaviour regarding the insurance protection. The HFC said they were not finding any miss selling of the product after they reviewed their procedures due to the fine. They also said consumers were not at a disadvantage because of the protection. The FSA and the law firm is working hard to prove otherwise. You may want to keep up dated on the process just in case you feel you have been misinformed by the company.
