Others have to get into their savings, if they have some, in order to get through the month. The UK credit card companies are launching credit cards in which you don’t have to make contact with the payment system. The consumers are now fearing this might leave them open to credit card fraud. A poll was completed on 2200 UK residents. Of that amount 77 percent believes the contactless credit cards are going to open them up for fraud. The credit cards don’t work with a pin as long as the payment is under a certain amount of pounds. (more…)

A Scotland Yard anti- terrorist officer has been jailed. An investigation revealed that Detective Sergeant Richard de Cadenet had used an American Express card given to him through the police. The card was meant for his business needs for the anti terror position, but instead he used it for almost 82,000 pounds. (more…)

In recent news a study has shown that credit card fraud has increased by 25 percent in the last few months. The credit card fraud is increasing in the cloning aspect. In 2007 credit card companies lost 535 million pounds to cloned credit cards, even though the chip and pin system is being implemented throughout the UK. While we are seeing 25 percent increase in the last few months, since 2007 there has actually been an increase of 77 percent in fraud. (more…)
