Credit Card Deals to Avoid - Part 1

Bank of America apparently told several thousands of their customers that they would be getting a rate hike if they did not pay of their balances. Even those consumers who have a great credit history were told that they were need to pay off the balances of their cards are they were be raising the rates to 28%. The current rate for many of these card holders has been 9%.

Minimum Payment Trap

Credit cards offer a minimum payment as a way to keep you paying the credit card for several years. You should avoid improving the banks pockets by not making the minimum payment. Instead when paying down a credit card you need to pay more than the minimum payment. This is the only way you can eliminate the debt in a reasonable time as well as help save you money in the long run.

The first thing you want to do is see if there is a lower rate interest card that you can transfer the balance to. Keep in mind that if you can find a credit card that offers an introductory rate for half the two years you are still doing better than paying the interest. There are some credit cards offering up to 12 months of no interest on balance transfers. This would be the first place to look. Next you want to look for credit cards with the lowest amount of interest, whether that starts after an introductory period or right away. You can save on 14% and pay the card down.

Scammers Warning Victims

Well there is nothing more disconcerting than to learn the scammers are actually alerting their victims of fraud in order to complete their scam. In the tri city Washington area there has been a scam uncovered in which the scammers have been sending out an email warning of a fake email going around from a company. One company used was Gesa.

New Crime Uncovered

There have been arrests of a gang of four individuals involving a new crime that was uncovered. It seems that Senior citizens have become special targets for many of the gangs and criminals in Fresno. There have been 52 residents of the area, in which identity theft was the prime crime.
