Despite that there has been a change made to the credit card interchange fees there may not be a credit card refund. Yesterday the news released that there is an EU crackdown on credit card interchange fees. MasterCard was ruled against in the court proceeding for their interchange fee charges.

It seems that there have been a few practices regarding credit cards that have consumers stumped. Recent while using a M&S money card a consumer saw a statement on his receipt reading, “I have chosen not to use the MasterCard currency conversion process and agree that I will have no recourse against MasterCard concerning the currency conversion or its disclosure.â€

It seems that there are about one fifth of the consumers using their credit cards for last minute shopping. According to Sainsbury’s Bank there is about 2.1 billion pounds being spent with credit cards in the final week before Christmas. This means that 18 percent of the consumers are spending money on their credit cards for last minute shopping during the Christmas season.

Dublin Ireland just released the Consumer Credit Debt Report for 2007. They have found that the debt crisis is worsening overall rather than improving. While the issues are localised and specific to a certain group of borrowers the issue is not being resolved.
