Determining Your Credit Card Style
When it comes to credit card styles, there are three main categories: conservative, extremist, and rewardist. Which one are you?
- Conservative – If you have a conservative credit card style, you want ton spend as little money as possible and you expect to get what you paid for. If you are a conservative credit card holder, you need to find a card with no annual fee and you may even prefer a credit card that requires paying the balance in full at the end of each month.
- Extremist – An extremist wants to have the best the world has to offer and he or she wants to have it now. If you are an extremist, you don’t want a credit card that requires payment in full at the end of each month because you want to be able to purchase the things you desire even if you don’t have the money in the bank to pay for them. You need to be careful if you are an extremist, as this is the personality type that tends to get themselves buried in debt.
- Rewardist - A rewardist wants to get paid for using a credit card. If you are a rewardist, you should apply for a card that offers cash back, rewards, or airline miles in return for purchases. Just be sure to pay your balance in full at the end of each billing cycle, or you will be paying more in finance charges than the rewards are really worth.
